Ag lorg na Síochána Mná100 Podcast, Eipeasóid 4 1922
Sa phodchraoladh seo scrúdaítear imeachtaí 100 bliain ó shin agus ról na mban i lorg na síochána – ó chathaoirleacht ar chruinnithe an Choiste Síochána i mí na Bealtaine go toscaireachtaí a eagraíodh i mí an Mheithimh agus Iúil 1922 de réir mar a mhéadaigh an chogaíocht sa Chogadh Cathartha.
Trí shúil eile a chaitheamh ar na himeachtaí stairiúla seo, déantar machnamh freisin i Mná 100 ar éachtaí agus eispéiris phearsanta rannpháirtithe an phodchraolta. Labhraíonn triúr ban sa phodchraoladh; chéad bhan-Uachtarán na hÉireann agus Cathaoirleach The Elders, Mary Robinson; Áine Hearns, Stiúrthóir an Aonaid um Réiteach Coinbhleachta sa Roinn Gnóthaí Eachtracha; agus Maria Butler, Leas-Ard-Rúnaí Chonradh Idirnáisiúnta na mBan ar son na Síochána agus na Saoirse, a ceapadh ina Stiúrthóir Feidhmiúcháin ar Thionscnamh Nobel na mBan i mí na Bealtaine 2022.
Dúirt an tAire Martin:
“Tugann eipeasóid ‘Ag lorg na Síochána’ i sraith podchraoltaí cuimhneacháin Mhná 100, tuiscint fíor-thábhachtach dúinn ar na toscaireachtaí síochána in 1922 a raibh mná i gceannas orthu agus a raibh sé mar aidhm acu cosc a chur leis an gCogadh Cathartha. Ghlac go leor de na mná seo páirt sa ghluaiseacht síochána idirnáisiúnta ag an am sin. Tugann séléargas uathúil dúinn ar na míonna dúshlánacha sin. D’oibrigh na mná Éireannacha Mary Robinson, Maria Butler agus Áine Hearns go hidirnáisiúnta, agus tá a saolta chomh suimiúil céanna leis na mná stairiúla céad bliain ó shin.”
